The Possil Fleet were the local gang in the 70s.

Stornoway Rose (lyric by Matt McGinn):
Our neighbour played McGinn’s ‘Screwtops are falling on my head’ album as a kid and later our first band Clan Spanborskee played some of his songs and we’ve always loved Matt’s words. The tune is our own as is ‘With Fire and with Sword’ later on in the album.

Crazy Little Gems:
A wee song for all the musicians of Possilpark, most of whom headed for London young.

Mrs Auld’s Van:
Bertie Auld (Lisbon Lion and then manager of Patrick Thistle) bought his mum a little grocery van to serve the high rise flats at Wester Common that were opened and which we moved into in 1970.

With Fire and with Sword:
Matt McGinn’s anti-war lyric.
